Installation, dimensions variable. Cage, wood; Birds, slipcast porcelain.
There is a desire with this work to utilise mimesis as a conceptual underpinning. The work shows two ceramic birds - one in the cage and the other broken below on the floor. The broken bird has oozed clay slip - 10% exactly making reference to the 10% blood birds contain in relation to body weight - this reference of ceramic bird to clay slip makes note of the materiality of the object and as such instructs a mimetic reading.
